* Three key factors of synthetic grass to consider on my opinion.
1) Colour ( Tone)
- One tone: Obvious fake grass
- Two tones: Less obvious fake grass
- Three tones: Similar to real grass,
- Four tones: Looks like real grass - Lifelike feeling
2) Pile height: the longer the better
- 12 mm
- 20 mm
- 30 mm
- 40 mm
3) Touch feeling: soft and hard is personal choice
- Harder
- Softer
There would be another option to consider : CSIRO - safety check certificate
- How to distinguish the four tone grass???
* Two colours straight yarn and two curly yarn piles.
* Three tons: two colours straight yarn and one colour curly yarn.
* Two tons: On colour straight yarn and one colour curly yarn.
- 12 or 25 mm: the economic basic option – it is not real looking
- 30 - 35 mm: the intermediate option between basic and prestige
- 40 mm: the Prestige option for real looking
- Usage: Landscaping, soft underfoot, Golf sports, Playgrounds
N.B: From my research - Bunnings sells several synthetic grass options:
-Their top quality synthetic grass, 35mm but it is only three tones
for $52.00/sqm (1.8m width).
– As of 15 March 2016,
There is no four tones grass and we did not like the quality and price.
- Three tone grass is not lifelike grass
- There are also one tone and two tones grass but it is still very expensive and the quality is not good.
MAINTENANCE:
The major benefits of a synthetic lawn is its durability,
natural beauty, and low maintenance. Artificial turf maintenance is minimal with small measures necessary to ensure longevity.
-Eliminating the need for costly watering, and brightening up the property.
